At Richard Henry Dana Middle School, we understand the value of great academic and social/emotional support and guidance for all of our students. During the transition to and through middle school, Dana's highly trained counselors serve as invaluable components of the administrative team as they are amazing resources for our school community. Our counselors are available between 7:45 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Monday-Friday.
Mr. Theodore Okasinski
Mr. Okasinski has taught and counseled at Dana Middle School for the past 7 years. During his tenure at R. H. Dana Middle School, he has taught eighth grade social studies, and an Academic Improvement class (AIP). Furthermore, he is the intervention coordinator, at risk counselor and dean of discipline. Prior to this assignment, he taught and counseled in the Culver City, Centinela Valley and Los Angeles Unified school districts. Mr. Okasinski completed his graduate studies at the California State University at Los Angeles. He earned his undergraduate degree and teaching credential from the University of Michigan. Throughout his years as an educator, Theodore Okasinski has concentrated on the needs of his students, always aiming to support them in their academic, career and personal social growth.
Ms. Megan Enge
Ms. Enge has been a full-time counselor at R. H. Dana Middle school for two years and she first entered the Wiseburn school district as a counseling intern in 2012. Currently, some of her duties include organizing the middle school transition program for 6th grade students, acting as a liaison to the DaVinci High Schools, and collaborating with teachers to provide services for our at-risk students. Prior to this, Ms. Enge completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Wisconsin-Madison where she majored in psychology. After college she spent a year teaching English internationally at the Kindergarten, 3rd, and 6th grade levels in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Ms. Enge received her Masters degree in Education and also in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Southern California.
