Dear Dana Families and Friends:

Thank you to all of our community members for continuing to make Dana Middle School an exciting place to learn and grow.  As we gear up for the end of the school year, please pay close attention to all the announcements to be sure not to miss out on any of our exciting events.  I look forward to a great week ahead!

Literacy Week is coming!

PTA is excited to partner with the English Department to celebrate Literacy Week from April 3-7 by hosting a Scholastic Book Fair in the school library. The fair will be open Monday, April 3 thru Thursday, April 6 before school, during lunch, and after-school. The book fair will be open before school only on Friday, April 7 as it is an 11:45 dismissal day.

We need volunteers to work at the book fair. Please sign up using this link http://signup.com/go/wGoWnT.  If you have questions, email Liza at lasomilleda@aol.com, or Chris at christinacessor@aol.com.

Hairspray Jr. Musical

Dana Middle School presents Hairspray Jr. on March 29, 30, and 31 in the MPR.  A group of students have been working very hard for many months to put on a fantastic show.

Wiseburn Library

The Wiseburn Library is offering a series of free events that are definitely worth checking out.  They will host an Opera Talk on Cinderella and Romeo and Juliet, an Adult Etiquette Workshop for teens, and a Bullying Prevention Session.  We are lucky to have a community resource and partner, like the Wiseburn Library, right down the block.  Take a look at the attachments for more information.

Next Rock Around the Block Family Fun Day Planning meeting

It is just two weeks away from Rock Around the Block!  Mark your calendars for Saturday, April 1st! You can purchase tickets online or turn money in using the self-addressed envelope your child took home. Interested in volunteering? Our next RAB planning session is Tuesday March 21st, at the Burnett Brann Center.

Yearbooks – don’t wait!

Time for a little Math, there are some 90 yearbooks available for sale and about 500 students who may still want to purchase one.  Bring orders to the Dana library, or order online at yearbookforever.com.
